September 2006 Minutes

 

September 18, 2006

 

In Attendance: Gayle Brandt, John Joyner, Melba Knight, Heather Harper, Shannon Reese, Margaret Isenhower, Mark Brandt, Jennifer Brady, Angela Irwin, Larry Corbin

 

The meeting was called to order by John Joyner at 7:00 pm at the Barnyard Restaurant. Prayer was offered by Mark Brandt.

 

Treasurer’s Report:   Gayle Brandt gave the Treasurer’s Report and reported Beginning Balance of $1426.70, with deposits of $40.00 and an outlay of $10.00.  This gives a new ending balance of $1456.70.  The motion was made by Mark Brandt to accept the Treasurer’s Report and Seconded by Melba Knight.  Report Accepted.

 

Minutes:  Everyone had a copy of the August 2006 minutes.  Motion made by Melba Knight to accept Minutes and Seconded by Mark Weaver.  Minutes Accepted.

 

Membership:  No new member applications were placed.

Grant:  No new information was available on the Grant that the Chamber is pursuing for use in creating a new park for the Greater Odenville Area.

 

Police Auxiliary Function: Discussion was held on manning the Odenville Police Auxiliary Fundraiser on the upcoming Saturday morning.  All Chamber members were encouraged to help in this event. 

 

Ole Time County Fair:  Discussion was held on how maximum participation was needed for a successful outing.   A map was shown on basic set up and layout of activities.  Blow up activities for children has not as yet been booked.  The GOCoC authorized the renting of these Blow ups if they can be booked.  Area politicians and local churches will be contacted to see if they would like to set up in the vendor area.  More entries for the cooking contests are being sought and all Chamber Members were encouraged to solicit entries.  Biscuits will be donated by Jacks Family Restaurant for a biscuit eating contest.  More volunteers are needed to insure that all activities will be manned and that those Members present can have an enjoyable time.

Name Tags: A way to identify Chamber Members at various activities was discussed.  Heather Harper brought up that they had a contact with a company that could make and ship Name Tags in a day or two at about $10.00 each.  Motion was made by Gayle Brandt and Seconded by Melba Knight to order enough for Chamber Members.  

 

Motion was made by Mark Brandt to Adjourn and Seconded by Mark Weaver.  Meeting Adjourned
